Well as you can see from the pic, Aparna hasn't changed much and so is Padmaja. The two kids are Padmaja's son and daughter. Padmaja is being picked on by her daughter and Aparna as how they are taller :-)
And so the evening started by we asking Aparna to name everyone at the table. Aparna put out a disclaimer saying that and I quote her "with receding hairlines and advancing belly curves it is hard to identify our classmates". The slightly older looking chap next to Aparna on her right kept addressing her as "Meeru" - "Cheppandi" and when Aparna came to know that it was project mate RaviRanjan, she was ready to slap him for being that formal. Oh!! and by the way even till today Aparna can't name the guy sitting to her left.
As the evening continued, we went around the table and introduced ourselves to Aparna and gave a quick recap of what great things each one of us had done in the last 20 years. And some where along the way, some one made a mistake of asking me about the my running and there you see me boring them to death about how my running is so great :-) To get an idea, please watch this video - Running Marathons
And that yes indeed is the most eligible bachelor Pattu with a full head of hair which he had painfully dyed it salt and pepper to keep up with the rest of the aging old farts (excluding Aparna, Padmaja and KSK who will always remain forever young)
It was a wonderful evening where we all for about 3 hours moved the clock back by 20 years and went back to our HCU days. Aparna narrated her story of how KCR had caught her and Vanaja chuckling and later Aparna lashed out at KCR as to how boring his class was. We talked about our famous Md.Rafi saheb (Udai Madduri) and how he recorded his famous voice over the EKG recording me and Sridhar had brought on a tape from NIMS, How we almost got beaten up at the Srinivas theater during the moving Khaidi No.786.
And now to describe the hangers from left to right, top row first :
Prashant Deva, alias "Ben" prefers to be called as "Deeva", well atleast that was his western name while in the US
Kasak - alias "K Srinivas Kumar" and Aparna can you please make a note of the name
Prof.Prem - As you can see he still has got his bagpack and has just wandered out of the IISc campus
Aparna - Mysteriously surfaced after an absence of almost 15 years. Well to give her the credit she is the one who found me on facebook
